Doctor's appt went well today. We looked thru my file and I was able to actually see that yes I have lost some weight and kept it off over the past 2 years. When I started going to her I was at 293. Today I weighed in at 265, a nice loss of 28lbs. I was honestly wondering I had lost anything. I couldnt remember what my highest weight was. She said that my goal of getting to 200lb is a good one. She isnt one of these doctors who is pushing me to get down to 120lb that all the charts seem to say I should be. *GAG* I like my doc and it has been good for me to go to her. She thinks that at 200lbs I would be off the high blood pressure pills and other things.

Tonight I go to my first Tai chi class. I am so NERVOUS. I dont know what to wear, what to bring, what to do. *BREATHE* I know I am going to be self conscious about my shape, and alittle worried about my knee. I will go and get thru this. I can do this. It will be good no GREAT for me. Just have to keep the good thoughts.

A good Tai Chi teacher is going to watch you very carefully to make sure you challenge yourself without injuring yourself. The goal of Tai Chi is health.

You'll love it. Trust me. Just wear something loose and comfortable and don't worry about it.

Weird, I didnt get your response in my email. I did enjoy it. We learned the first 5 moves of Lee Style. The 60 move version. Awhile ago I learned a different style, with only 24 moves. I didnt keep up with it because I didnt have the room to do the moves. Alot of traveling with that one. Basically I am worried about pushing myself too hard. I dont want to hurt myself. I have a bad ankle and a bad knee. I feel really good right now though. Getting my breathing back on track.

That's really great about losing weight and keeping it off! I just got through taking off most of what I put on during the holidays.

I took a couple of Tai Chi classes that were offered at Worldcon -- just a few pieces of one form. You can probably imagine the average figure at a worldcon. ;) Anyway, the instructor was really good at going at a pace that the whole room could handle.
