demarianaIn an earlier post I alluded to decisions might have to be made after my doctor's visit today. The rabbit didnt die, so I am not pregnant. That to me is VERY good news. I do not want kids. I have known this since I was like 16 and started doing the baby sitting thing. I like kids when I can give them back.
Found out at my doctor's visit that my high blood pressure meds arent working, so she changed which ones I am on. That wasnt what I went to see her for, but it was good to find out. Maybe that is why I have been so tired, and headachy lately.
I am going to go into some gross female specific things. For those who are sensitive, dont read further.

Ok, if you clicked to read you are probably going to be grossed out. I will try and not be too specific. I am on the birth control pill. I have been for 10 years now. Most of the time I have been on ortho novum 7/7/7. There hasnt been any problems really, until now. 2 months ago I had some breakthru spotting. Nothing major just annoying. Fri/sat I started having it again this month. I am on my 3 week of pills, so my period should be starting next week. Instead since sat I have had bleeding ranging from very little, alot. Monday night I was in the car, and could feel it bleeding. I have never really felt it before on a normal period. I went to the bathroom and it was BRIGHT red, and clotting. Nothing like a normal period for me. Very GROSS. Tues morning still the same, but tapered off. A friend made the comment that when a pill fails these can be symptoms. I made a doctor's appt and went today. Before my appt, the bleeding had mostly stopped, after the appt it started up again. This is getting really annoying. I have cramps, and a headache. The only bright spot is that the rabbit did not die!
The other bright spot is that after asking 3 times I was able to bully my doctor into giving me a referral to a GYN to talk about getting my tubes tied. That appt is for Jan 2nd, and I hope I can bully that doc into doing the damn procedure. I will get the you are only 30 and dont have kids speach, but DAMNIT, I dont want kids. NEVER have. I will sign any damn thing they want stating that they can sue me if I ever change my mind. We will see. I will also have to call my insurance and pray that they will pay for the surgery. I do not want to have this scare happen again.

Date: 2001-12-13 06:25 am (UTC)I hope you figure out what it is. I can't say anything on experiences with birth control pills as I have never ever used them. I don't want to either. Sounds too risky in my opinion as I don't know a single person that didn't have some issues with them. I rather pop vitamin pills in the morning, not prescription pills. So far other contraceptives have worked just fine for me. Like you I knew when I was a teenager that I never wanted kids. Thankfully my hubby doesn't care to have kids either. We like our lifestyle. So I'm 33 and still doing all right in the light of things and except for some very rare randomness my cycle is predictable. I guess it is predictable enough that I don't want to have birth control pills mess it up. LOL!

Date: 2001-12-13 06:56 am (UTC)Just remember you are the patient. The final argument that I used was the "financially capable of supporting a child, wanting one that badly, then I will be financially capable of reversing this". That was when my OB/GYN knew I had thought it through.
