demariana | I'm Back!

Did you miss me? :) I have basically done a skim catch up of about 120 entries. I will have to go to one journal and answer all the polls in a bit. :) I had alot of fun and I am very very tired.

I got up at 6:30am and got ready making sure I had everything packed after I got my shower.Jeshua then drove me to get the rental. That took longer than I wanted because we had to go to another location to actually get a car. I got a Ford Focus and was on my way about 8:15. The Focus lets in alot of road noise, and this one needed an alignment. It gets pretty good gas mileage on the highway though.

I got to the con about 12, and registered. I headed straight to the dealers room and went into a small ferret shock. LOTS of stuff! I was able to pick up 3 new fluxx cards. *Grins* I had to buy a new deck so the new cards wouldnt stand out like a sore thumb in our deck. I also go a set of blank cards so we can make up our own rules. I came out of after heading back to see Susan VanCamp and the dragonstorm booth. I then remembered I told the rest of Random that I would call when I got here. I headed to a phone booth and gave them the 411.

Next up was standing in line to get game tickets. I signed up for 3 games and also got 7 generic tickets. One game got canceled, one I played and the 3rd I missed. I only used one Generic ticket to play a Looney Labs game called NanoFiction. It is a brand new game that isnt for sale yet. They were still cutting out the cards just before the demo. Yes it is that new. I enjoyed it, but wouldnt want to play it alot. It is a game that I would get really frustrated with. The other non-dragonstorm game I played was Hell Rails. I think I would have liked it if we had a better teacher explaining it. The 3 of us playing muddled thru after the brief instructions. I think I will have to play it again before I really know if I like it.

I got play in a total of 4 dragonstorm games. ALOT of fun. I could have played in more, but I am not that hard core about it. My character went from 25 points to 35 points which is nice. I also got a bow and some other supplies. I got to kill some things and one of the games since my Character was the highest point one at 34 I got to be the leader of the party. What joy (NOT) I dont play a leader or a fighter. I am the healer and the shaman. NOT the leader. I did have fun though.

I also got to see 4 people I havent seen in awhile. It was really good catching up with S. I have missed talking to her. It was good to see her husband, daughter and their good friend T as well. It was really nice seeing someone I knew relatively well in the sea of unknown people. And there were ALOT of people. The was alot of walking and I was lugging a backpack full of things.

I spent money in the dealers room on dice, a box of dice with rules for 62 dice games, more dice, some dragon storm cards, more dice, the Fluxx decks, some card protectors, and finally more dice. :) I think I bought dice at 4 different booths. I purposely stayed away from other CCGS or the mini games like Hero Clix and Mage Knight since I definitely do not have the money to start collecting those. It was hard since both of those had HUGE booths right at the front of the dealers room. I also got 2 autographs. I had 2 of the bab5 actors sign the DVD case since they were in the movies on the DVD. I would have gotten more of the signatures on pictures or something but they were charging. I understand why since they were not getting paid to be there, and they need to make money as well. I wish I could have gotten 2 or 3 more. I felt bad going up to talk since I couldnt buy an autograph.

Ok, I am going to stop now because I keep getting distracted and probably should take a nap. I am very very very tired.
