Salvation Army
Nov. 13th, 2001 09:31 pmI use to feed those little red buckets as I walked out of stores at this time of year. I know they are a Christian Organization, but I figured they did good work. Now I will be placing little slips of paper in instead. Why you might be asking? Because last week they took a giant step forward with annoucing that they would be giving health benefits to same sex and domestic partners. As of Monday night they have changed their minds because of peer pressure.

That of course is their choice. My choice is clear. I hope others take this idea and adopt it.
I will be making dollar sized pieces of light green paper with the following on it.
"I use to drop my change into these red buckets. Since you have decided to not grant health benefits to Same Sex and Domestic Partners, I have decided that my money will go to another charity. One that is more openminded. You have made your choice, I have made mine"
And then drop them in every red bucket I see this holiday season.
