I finally got my Loreal Hair color sample from start sampling. I picked Golden Dark Brown. Now I have to decide if I want to color my hair or not. Decisions decisions. I will have to wait till the cut on my scalp heals though. I tried to pick a color close to my hair color, but I think this is lighter. Oh well

Yes, you should color your hair so I get an extra penny at the next PartyLite party we're both at where we play the "I never" game...one of my favorite statements is "I've never colored my hair". ;)

Though I'm starting to go gray (more than I have been since my teens) so the question is...do I go gray gracefully or do I cover it?

I have colored my hair before. It has been about 6 years now. It was suppose to wash out, but instead bleached my hair alittle. (went to red) It took over 2 years to fully grow out because of how long my hair is. That is the main reason I am hesitant about doing it.

Hearing about experiences like that is why I haven't colored my hair before. I'm leaning more and more toward going gray gracefully. ;)

Speaking of leaning, Barrett is now on the top of my recliner, but is leaning rather heavily on my shoulder...

Sydb - Don't dye it!

Your "gray" hairs add beautiful highlighting to your already beautiful hair. An effect that women regularly spend much time and money to imitate. Not to mention the pain that must be involve with pulling tiny locks of hair through those rubber caps.

Last time I got my hair cut, I noticed it seemed rather light in the mirror while the stylist was brushing it out -- gray or blonde? Since this is the dead of winter, I'm thinking I've started to acquire gray myself, in that stealthy manner of redheads...

To Dye or Not to Dye

Personally, I've been dying my hair on a fairly regular basis - about every 3 to 6 months - for many years. I usually choose something on the reddish / auburn side, but have also used (like currently) shades of Golden Brown and every once in a while a warm black. I dye my hair whenever I get bored with it, and the only other choices are to cut or to curl. I don't like my hair too short, and perms are expensive, so I usually resort to coloring.

Besides, you don't have to use those cap things unless you just want a few random-looking highlights. I use one of those shampoo-in types of all-over color, and have never had any major problems as long as I stick to well-known brands.

Demariana - do you have that much grey that you're going to bother dying your hair something so close to your natural color? My opinion is that if you're going to do it, go for the gusto - at least a shade or two lighter, brighter, darker, or redder. :)

Sydb - There is nothing wrong with the "aging gracefully" concept, but you're not even thirty, why start now? You could always get one of those semi-permanent colors that wash out in anywhere from 4 to 20 shampoos (depending on brand and type), just to see if you like it. Go ahead - get crazy! You're not gonna have much time to after the baby arrives. ;)

Just my .04 cents (that's .02 cents for each of you!)
