Our power went out for about 1 hour. I was online chatting in multiple places when it just zapped out. I was in my bdsm chat, a cribbage game on furrymuck, and about 3 people on AIM. I felt bad about just dropping like that but of course they all understand. Nothing I could control. We found the flashlights and emergency candles. It was kinda fun watching the rain and storm out the front door.

I've lost power a few times since getting my own place, makes me glad I've got two UPSes. One for the Cable Modem, Router, and phone since I have Vonage and the other (Much heftier one) for my PC and monitor. Each time it went down, both shrieked their heads off, but there's enough battery life to keep them running for about an hour+. A good investment.
