Today Jeshua and I went out and wandered around Meijer and Barnes and Noble. Then we went and had dinner at Corky's. We went specifically to Meijer to pick up a bunch of stuff for feeding the birds. We got 9 suet cakes, a thistle feeder, some thistle, corn and another squirrel feeder, and 2 more clamp arms to hang feeders from. When we got home we had fun setting up all of the new feeders. I really hope we attract some gold finches. That would be cool. I love that I can watch them while doing dishes or other things in the kitchen. We also open the back door so the cats can go out into the mud room and watch the birds and the squirrels out the screen door.

Dinner was OK. It is #4 for the eat at 5 new places. I prefer Tony Roma's I think. The spinach and artichoke appetizer dip was bland. Just not as good as some of the other places. The cheese moons were too airy. The cheese would pull out of the fried breading and then all you had left was breading. I got a 1/2 rack and grilled shrimp with onion rings and the vegetable medley. The veggies were dry and/or overcooked. The onion rings were nothing to write home about. The shrimp was pretty good. The ribs were ok, but like I stated, Tony Roma's are much better. I want to go back and try some of the other things like a pulled pork sandwich just to give them a fair shake. We also split a chocolate cake w/ ice cream for dessert. It was not a quality dessert. Just seemed like something you could get anyplace. I guess I expecting something with more personality from the restaurant. Oh well.

Now we are going to hang out and snuggle and watch a movie. Bed early I think.

I tried that place for the first time last week and I wasn't impressed either. I had the bbq chicken on the bone. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The side salad was really good though. My husband had the pulled pork and chicken and he liked it. I'm with you though...Tony Roma's is MUCH better.

Glad to see you posting again. I kinda wish I had gotten the side salad. That might have been good.

What sort of thistle feeder did you get? I have one of the "sock" ones hanging up right now, but I usually have better luck with the plastic "inverted" feeders. The seed doesn't end up nearly as clumped & moldy after it rains.

Stocked up on bird feeding stuff myself yesterday, but actually went to Wild Birds Unlimited instead. Safflower, sunflower & thistle seed, along with whole peanuts in the shell for the squirrels & blue jays. :)

I almost got the sock one. The one we got was a generic thistle feeder that is yellow. It does not let the birds hang upsidedown that I was able to notice. I wish I could go to Wild Birds Unlimited but money is always a problem, even though I know they have quality stuff. Thistle at Meijer was $1.09/lb and then got 40lb bag of mixed seed for $7. They also had suet cakes last week buy 1 get 2 free so we picked up 9 packs.

We now have 3 feeders with a mix, and one with thistle. 2 Suet feeders and 2 corn holders for the squirrels. I should take some pictures and show off the set up.
