demarianaThis has been the case of ups and downs the past couple of days. On Friday I got the lovely we need to do some investigation before we deny your claim from Unemployment. One of the lovely questions is: On what day did you give notice to quit and what day did you quit? My initial response would be something like this. I did not quit you fuckers. I was let go per my original severance agreement. I would not be blackmailed into taking the extension for 4 months of brain numbing, stress filled, unfullfilling work. I felt no loyalty in staying with a company that does not show me loyalty. The pittance they offered to extend the agreement was not enough to make me stay in that hell hole another day. Now I might be able to write a well thought out response since I have gotten this out.
The next question is: What was the main reason you quit? is this the reason you gave your employer? I already said this once, I DID NOT QUIT! I was let go after 2 years of great service by a company that has decided that the dollar is GOD and not customer loyalty. They offered a voluntary extension to a severance package and I refused the offer of 4 months TEMPORARY Employment. Get that thru your thick skulls. If I quit why in the hell did I still get the severance? Oh wait, they could not back out of the original agreement. I know if the company could have gotten away with it they would have said sorry, you will not get anything unless you stay the extra 4 months. Then I would have been QUITTING. I will not be blackmailed.
I think that is my main problem right now. I feel like I was treated like crap by NiSource. Leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. Makes it hard to trust any big company since it seems they all worship the dollar.
Friday night Kilroy stopped by after his last final as he was heading out of town. Was a nice if short visit. I got a laugh out of him which got me to laugh. I also got another backrub. Purrrrrs. He got all walked on and licked by a Dustbunnie. *grins*
After Kilroy left Jeshua made it home with his great news. He was offered full time employment a couple of weeks ago to start Jan 2. Yesterday they finally talked money and some benefits. He is going to be salary at $25,000. This is so cool! He may actually started on Dec 26th depending on the pay schedule. He will also be able to get health insurance. I am so proud of him. To celebrate and to go out for date night he took me to the swanky restaurant at his hotel. Very good buffet. I got to dig into crab legs after crab legs. I never even got any of the prime rib since I was so stuck on eating the crab legs and the shrimp. Very nice place.
We came home after renting Sahara and watched it before bed. So yesterday ended up being a VERY good day even with the crappy piece of mail. It will work out. I have the time to look and find a career instead of a job because of Jeshua's new full time job will increase his contribution to household thus letting the severance last a bit longer. It also means I have the time to fight the unemployment office. Even if it does not go thru I can apply again in March when everyone is now severed.
I have some other posts running thru my head but not ordered them yet. I should probably write about Thursday. That was a fun day.
