Kitty Story

The other night R and I were getting ready for bed, and started to give the cats their nightly treats. Only 3 of my 4 cats showed up. That is strange, so we got out of bed and started to look for Serendipity, the missing cat. The 2 kittens are only 15 or so weeks old, but already they know about treats before bed. We wander the house looking for Sere, and still nothing. I turn on the living room light and look down to see the other kitten Strife batting under the recliner. Suddenly I see a paw snake out from under the recliner. Giggling I call to R to come down and look, I found Sere. Slowly I lift up the recliner and out she comes. What had happened is that she went up into the recliner w/o anyone noticing and then Mr Melodie Man(my meanish butthead kitty) effectively blocked her escape by laying directly under the raised foot rest. WE made sure that Melodie wasnt in the way when we lowered the recliner, but didnt check to see if a kitten was up inside. I know Melodie was just laughing his ass off. Sere was fine, she is so tiny that there was plenty of space in there. I know one reason I do nightly treats is so I can check on my kitties. This is the 2nd time one has not come to treats, because they have gotten someplace they shouldnt be. The other time one was in the bathroom closet. We have also had Dustbunnie (the 4th kitty) trapped in the pantry. It was funny seeing her paw come out under the door.

Now time for me to head to bed.

Yeah, our cats do this too. LOL. Just have to make sure they don't get in the linen closet as it is set up with the piping for the tub and the kitties will have full run of the space between the 2nd floor and 1st floor. Scarecrow has already explored this area and marked it his. LOL!
