Sleepy kitty
Nov. 3rd, 2022 08:36 pm Strife (cat in my icon) had a vet surgery appointment today. He was dropped off at 730 and came home at 6pm. We had taken him in last Friday and they did not see anything wrong in his mouth and took blood work to check him out. On Monday they called and advised that based on his blood work they thought they could do light sedation and get x-rays as well as do an in-depth look of his mouth. Strife turned 21 in August. So he is an old cat. I have been worried most of the day but thinking good thoughts. They called about 2pm to advise that they did not see any tumors on the x-rays (Yippy!) but he had extensive tooth decay and they wanted to extract as many as they could before they needed to bring him out of the sedation. The vet was saying probably 3-4. When we got the call he was done it ended up being 9 teeth removed. They said he was a rock star while he was under sedation. That his vitals were steady the whole procedure. He has some pain meds and is on soft food for a least a week. The stitches are dissolvable so that is good. We will probably keep him on soft food as he has been on it now for awhile. He gets ham baby food which he loves. He is still a bit groggy and wobbly on his feet but doing good. Some of it is probably the pain meds since that can cause drowsiness. He is such a good boy. Last one left of my 4 monsters.
