Date Night
Aug. 11th, 2007 01:08 amWith Phaeton. On Fridays he has school till about 10pm so it kinda hampers date night at times. Next quarter he will have class on Tues/Thurs which will be a bit nicer. The best thing we have found to do is if a theater has a late (after 10:15) movie, or we go play trivia for an hour or 2. Tonight ended up being a movie at Movie Tavern. We saw StarDust. VERY GOOD film. I have not read the book though. I am not sure how much it conforms to the story.
Because Phaeton normally shows up straight from school and meets me there we have 2 cars. It seems that after a good movie and I am driving home by myself this late at night I am alittle bit more wild than when I usually am driving someplace. I came down Richmond Rd tonight to head home thru town. I was doing about 50 mph (in a 35 mph zone) with the windows down and my CD of Duran Duran's greatest hits blaring. I did have my seatbelt on because I knew I was being more speedy than usual. I was getting close to Midland and Main st, (where it becomes one way) and I look in my rearview mirror to see red and blues. I quickly slowed down and came to a stop to watch him pass me and head downtown. That and the fact that the lights were all red kept me at a sedate pace as I went down main street to Broadway. When I got to broadway I hit all the lights right and picked up speed again as I got close to home. The music was "The Reflex", "Hungry like the Wolf" and "Girls on Film". I must have looked very silly singing and jamming to the songs as I drove. It let me bleed off some of the energy I got from the good movie and fun of being out. Maybe I will be able to sleep. I could so go out for another couple of hours though.
Time for bed though. Phaeton is done with the bathroom.
