Home Safe and Sound

We got in about 4am, and were the kitties happy. :) I was able to count heads and all 4 of them are safe and sound as well. My mom was sweet and come over to feed them for 3 days. She did this even though she was moving this weekend, and we couldnt help.

Con Report

The meet was alot of fun. Some angst and some misunderstandings, but all in all a good time I think was had by all. I really wish it wasnt so spread out, because it is hard to find people to hang with. I think they should concentrate it more. It also didnt help that there were 2 black family reunions on sat, and a church service on sunday in some of the conference rooms. There were some drunk idiots who decided to make fools of themselves. They were yelling things down from their rooms and they wandered into the dance to be obnoxious. I wonder if seeing 2 guys kissing was a problem :)

The con raised over $8000 dollars for TigerHaven, which was great. I got some pixie sticks in the live auction. I got them to tease Caritas because I dont want her to eat them. :) They are pixie sticks that were being handed out last con. So they are a memento from MFM2001. I also got a book from the silent auction. I was the only one who bid on it. I dont think people realized that it was signed. *GRINS* Their loss, and it is a good book, so far. Jeshua got a nice picture of one of the cats at Tigerhaven. Maybe just maybe this year we can get the money together to sponsor at cat. They are going to have 102 cats after this weekend. On the way back from MFM they are going to stop off and pick up 4 cats from this woman's home.

Most of the rest of the con is a blur. I saw lots of old friends, made some new friends, got flirted with, got to play some card games, got to dance, bought stuff, talked and socialized, had some fun *wink wink*. Basically just had a nice relaxing fun weekend. I wish I could go to more cons.

Presents at 2am.

We got up at 2am to head out to MFM on friday. We had just started to gather our items together and head out to pack up the car when Dustbunnie decided to investigate the corner by the door. Her tail was all atwitching and she was very very agitated. Suddenly she pounces and heads out of the living room with something dangling from her mouth. At first I thought it was one of the gray toy mice we have around the house, but when we followed her and she finally dropped it we realized it was a real mouse. I ot a dustpan and broom and swept it up. It was breathing very laboredly and as I watched it suddenly ceased to breathe.

Poor mousey. We disposed of the body. We plugged up the hole we think we it came in, and then headed on our way to MFM. We probably should investigate the area where the mouse was just in case.

SHAMPOO!

I got obsessed about one thing this con and it amused my loves. Lately when I have been going to the Y I have been taking the samples of shampoos we have gotten from hotels to wash my hair with. I found this one kind that I love for getting the chlorine out of my hair and not drying it out. This shampoo was from a holiday inn and is breck conditioning shampoo. I was so hoping that the MFM hotel was the one that had the shampoo. When we finally got into the room that was one of the first things I checked. and...

IT IS THE SAME!

Then I was a gal with a mission. I wanted to get as many bottles as I could without arousing suspicion. :) In the end I got 14 bottles. That should last me about 6 months I hope. Maybe I will be able to find a place to purchase this shampoo by then. *grins*

Sometimes it is the simple things that bring me pleasure. Plus I know my singlemindedness about it amused my loves. *grins* That is one reason I played it up. Just got to be silly and see them smile.

Fight Club

One mind fuck of a movie. Up on par with The Cell and Being John Malkovich. They honestly are nothing alike except for the fact that they leave your mind twisted in knots in the end.

Damn, now I have to sleep. If I can.
