I went to the Y and did 18 minutes on the elliptical trainer and then TS got there and we swam 36 lengths. Feel pretty good. I like the showers at the Y because of the pressure is nice and strong, and all the hot water I want :) I took a nice shower and washed the chlorine out of my hair. I love swimming with TS because we use the kickboards and talk as we go up and down the pool. We are trying to decide about taking a 6-week fitness program.

BP: 118/79 pulse: 91, right now.

I really think the glucosamine/chondroitin is helping. My knee is popping less. Stairs dont hurt as much. I am going to tell my doctor on friday that I am taking it. Maybe find out what dosage she recommends. I would like to go down to 2 pills a day.

I am really worried about going to see my doctor on friday. I have been exercising for 3.5 weeks now and if they scale doesnt show a decline I could react very badly. I know that I shouldnt, that the numbers dont mean much, but damnit I want to see it under 270. I will not let the numbers cause me to derail though. I promise this to myself.

Hey rosepurr, if you have read this far on friday after my doctor's appt would you like to go have lunch at subway? *GRINS*

Ok, time to watch a movie and then bed. I work an ok shift tomorrow, 7:30-11:30, 4-8. I plan to go swim laps from 12-1. Unless I get surplus, then I might go earlier. On wed TS and I are talking about trying to meet before work to see if we could be early morning exercise people. It would mean getting to the gym about 6:45am. (GAG) but would also mean it was done for the day. We shall see.

The meds you're taking may be helping, but wanted to offer an alternate to why your knee is doing better. My knees used to pop all the time and hurt like hell if I did any kind of bending or really anything that used knees (like stairs). I joined WW and started exercising regularly, like what you're doing, only I did mainly walking. I didn't really notice as it went away, but one day I just noticed my knees no longer popped and they didn't hurt. The weight loss I'm sure helped, but I think it was mainly the exercise. So, the exercise is probably helping your knee out a lot too. And, you've been doing it long enough for it to become a habit (takes 21 days, if I remember correctly). :)

*L* This is exactly what I was going to say. Swimming is probably helping your knees and it will help your heart rate as well.

Honestly it is probably a combo of the exercise and the pills. The big thing is that I am hoping these pills help the healing of the cartilage in my knees from my arthritis. I know that is what they are suppose to do. The other thing I have noticed is that when I get up in the morning and have to go down the stairs my knees arent as stiff as they use to be. I think that has alot to do with the pills.
