I got a bill today in the mail that is past due that I swear I paid. $60 bucks to the plumber. I have searched my records, and my bankbook, and there are no checks written for it. Damn Damn Damn. I feel very bad that I forgot to pay it. I have no idea what happened. I could have sworn I paid it. Of course my records say otherwise. I do like that I keep the bankbook balanced so I can just search the old records to find out if something was written or not. Now I have to find the money somehow. Damn.

You think that's bad? When we took Christopher to the eye doctor this year, it turns out it had been two years since we'd taken him -- and I could have sworn we'd done so... But my records also proved the doctor right.

Then a month later, at my exam, I found out that it's been two years since I've seen the doctor, as well.

It seems to be easy to think we've done something, merely because we intended to do it.
