I am thinking about my itinerary for Origins, and why do I even need a room.

7:30 AM Friday, get Car
Drive Columbus get there about 11am
Get badge and wander till newcomers panel at 1-3:30
Dragonstorm at 4 till about 8
LARP from 9pm-4am
Nap somewhere
8AM find a game or 2.
3pm Dragonstorm till about 10pm
Start drive home and get a hotel about 1 hour outside of Columbus
Come the rest of the way home sunday morning

So yeah, I would be up about 40 hours.

Maybe you should take a sleeping bag and find someone who will give you floor space in their hotel room. (maybe somebody who is larping)

Planning to crash in a hotel an hour out sounds about right. I sure wouldn't want to plan that schedule and then drive straight home.

Also, call and see if there are any festivals, concerts, etc in the area. I have done the drive and I will find a place and ended up crashing at relatives in rural wisconsin because of a concert festival outside of chicago. No rooms in a 2 hour circle out from chicago to milwaukee. Columbus and s ohio have a lot of summer festivals.
