demariana[Error: unknown template qotd]When I was 15 or so my younger brother started on the internet with a bbs that he was running. This was in the mid-80s and a 1200 baud modem or something that slow. He kept asking me about joining and that I had to think up a username to be on the internet. My real name wasnt good enough. I finally thought of one. Denmariana. It is a combo of my first, middle and last names. When I went to college I got on bitnet and they had a limit of 9 characters, so I took out the N and have been Demariana ever since. For the longest time when I would search google for Demariana the only hits would be my stuff.
I have gone by 2 other names on the internet. For awhile in college/med school I was Purrfect. That is where my saying Purrfectly pleasant unless provoked comes from. I was dumped and then decided to chnage back to Demariana exclusively. When I was in certain channels on IRC and did not want to get hit on because I had a female sounding name I would go by Denney. Denney (or maybe Dennie) was what I was almost named.
