I am livid. I think though I handled my rage extremely well. I got to the new doctor 5 minutes early to my appointment and got registered rather quickly. I went upstairs and filled out the new patient form and then waited, and waited, and waited. 45 minutes later I asked and found out that there was still 4 people ahead of me. Then the receptionist was kind enough to say that the doctor was routinely a hour behind. I quipped, "That would have been nice to know" and then she tried to back pedal by saying that each day is different. If I had known he was backed up I would have probably run home and gotten Jeshua so he could have gotten Phaeton and then Phaeton would have driven Jeshua to school before coming back to pick me up. Instead I decided at 4:35 that I just could not wait since there was still 1 person in front of me. I went downstairs and asked for a refund on my credit card. The woman who checked me in informed me that she was already clocked out and her drawer was counted so she could not do the refund. They would gladly place the credit on my account with the doctor though. That is when I informed her I would not be back. That I would be finding another doctor who is not routinely a hour behind. To me that is unprofessional or incompetent. Neither qualities I want in my doctor or doctor staff.

The only good thing is that I did think of drowning/appeasing my rage with food, and then figured the energy would be best spent with exercising. *grins*

So contact your credit card company and do a chargeback if the doctor won't refund. Posession may not be 9/10s of the law, but if you have your money and the doctor doesn't it's a lot easier to get them to back down.

Forgot to mention that she then called a supervisor to state that she was going to altering her drawer and did do the refund.

That so sucks... so here's this...

She's in Georgetown, so it may not be helpful to you... but...

I absolutely love my doc. Her name is Kelly Burgess, and she's with Georgetown Family Physicans... which is located in the hospital here in town. It is on the side closest to Lexington, so if you live on the north-ish side, or downtown it's about the same as traveling to the far/south side of Lexington.

If you'll let me know what sort of doc you're looking for, I'm on a local wedding board that gets a lot of hits... I can ask around there for a suggestion.

(Hi! It's me Heather! I got around to getting an lj again, and then rememebered you had one and here I am!)

I loathe doctors like this. When I was living in southeastern PA, my doctor's office was routinely an hour behind. One day I walked into the waiting room to discover a new sign that said that quality health care was like fine dining, not fast food. During the hour and a half I sat there waiting, I had plenty of time to contemplate the fact that I'd never had a fine dining establishment seat me an hour past my reservation time. It was the last time I went to that doctor's office.

Hiya. I added you back. I have seen you on chat a couple of times and have been meaning to say hi.

My primary doctor is fine with time as well as my Ob/Gyn. My problem this time was for a new doctor that I was going to go see about my ankle.

Good to see you.

This was a doctor for the ankle pain I have been having. My primary doctor is great. That is one reason I am willing to go across town to see her. Thanks for the info though.
