demarianaGoing to Nanny and Poppy's motel for the holidays in the snow up in Vermont.
Going to the motel the summer I was 13 alone on a plane. Hanging out for a week in the summer and getting my hair cut to my shoulders. That was the shortest my hair has ever been.
Choosing my college and then finding out that they have bought a home in a retirement community about 45 minutes away.
Having them take me to Epcot while in Florida
Watching them grow older and knowing they are slowing down
Having my grandfather give me $20 for pizza almost everytime I came to visit while in college
Getting the phone call 8 years ago in the early morning that my grandfather had died. Curling up in Phaeton's arms and crying.
Going to Chicago about 3 months later and absentmindedly grabbing a matchbook from a restaurant and then remembering that my grandfather is dead and noone is still collecting matchbooks
Breaking down into tears on the street in Chicago
Watching my grandmother be surprised for mother's day by my mom and D because they decided to surprise her on her visit by getting married.
Going up to visit her last year in March for a week.
Taking her to walmart and helping her pick out a few things
Trying to help her in her small room.
Taking her out to eat and just being with her.
Going to the home one last time before my flight and finding out she went to the hospital the night before.
Going to see her in the hospital and worried I had pushed her to do too much.
Speaking to her over the holidays and realizing last night that was the last time I had spoken with her.
Regrets that I did not call her more
Relief that it was quick and painless.
Knowing it was coming in my head but not in my heart
Being held by the rest of Random as I cried
