Mr Melodie Man

Many people who meet my cat Melodie think he is very standoffish, and almost mean. Most of the time he is just nervous. To me he is so loving and cute. This morning I woke up about 5:50 because D had gotten out of bed to go the bathroom. I reached over and he wasnt there, so stayed semi-awake till he got back into bed. While I was waiting Melodie jumped up into the bed and started to snuggle up to me. He lets me grab him and laying on my side, hold him to my chest/face, surrounding him with my arms. His face presses against mine and he starts to purr. I just smiled and reached out to touch D as he crawled back into bed. D coming back disturbed Melodie alittle bit, so he had to move. This time he didnt move far. He went up and laid down on my pillow. I was able to drift back off to sleep with a purring Melodie up above my head, my hand reaching up to scritch his head/back/neck as I drifted between snoozes. What a lovely way to wake up. His is my big baby. His is also my familiar I believe.

Sounds like a wonderful cat. My cat, Tropicana (his name before we adopted him), likes to sleep next to me too. However he doesn't like to be up near my face. He's usually curled up by my legs or chest. What kind of cat is Melodie? Tropicana is a big orange Tabby.

He is just a domestic long hair. I posted pictures awhile back of both melodie and dustbunnie

I dont have pictures of the kittens yet. At one time we had all 4 cats sleeping on the bed. :) King sized bed.

Cute! He looks almost as big as Tropicana :)
