The other day I finally decided I needed to bite the bullet and get to a dentist. I called one within walking distance of my house and got an appt for today. It was really cool how quickly they could get me in. I set up for a cleaning at 3:30 and of course some x-rays since I have not been to a dentist for about 2 years I think. Last time I went they were saying I had cavities and my plaque and such was so bad that I should really have cleanings every 3 months. They also said some other things as well. I have been dreading seeing a dentist since so much is not covered by insurance and I was sure I would be going back a lot for some fillings and such. I have so not been flossing or brushing at all. I am really bad about that.

Cut to today at 3:30 when I get back to the dentist. The hygenist needed to use the vibrating cleaner because I did have some build up but she said that next time we probably would not have to since it would only be 6 months and not the 2 years. When the dentist looked at my mouth she said I had some big fillings but the margins looked good and no new cavities. That if I started to have some more sensitivity to come back but everything looked good. *blink blink* I know cavities do not fix themselves. What was all this talk from the previous dentist? I really wonder if they were trying to just get me back to get more money. I can see that.

I was out and walking home by 4:11 with a nice set of clean and polished teeth and it was relatively painless. There was this one point when the vibrating cleaner hit my filling and buzzed the metal that hurt, but other than that it was fine. Based on today I would be so willing to go back when I start to feel more issues.

Ok, now to the doctor. I got an automatic reminder yesterday for an appt I had scheduled for tomorrow. One that I had totally forgotten about since it was made over 6 months ago I think. It was for my yearly. Well I am being too much of a girl right now to even think of having a doctor poking in that area. I called today and advised that I would need to reschedule. Well that was interesting. The scheduling agent was saying that she was not sure the doctor had anything open until MARCH! That is 9 months way. So she looked to see if there was a cancelation and there was... for DECEMBER! I signed up for it, but really think I am going to be looking for another OB/Gyn. I need someone who is more just for GYN since I do not plan to need the OB part. She did mention that the doctors do not do yearly exams on patients for the other doctors. I would have to switch to someone else in the practice. I might do that or I might find one closer to home. I plan to ask my internist when she gets back from vacation if she has any recommendations.

So that was my interesting day today with a dentist and doctor.
