Last night I went out to the closest Wendy's that just reopened on Broadway after being closed to remodel. Actually they tore down the old one and built a whole new building. It opened on Tuesday. They have not worked out all the kinks yet.
I got in line and my order was taken rather quickly. I wanted 2 meals with baked potatoes instead of fries and an added side salad. My single w/ cheese was to have no tomato and no pickle. Went to the first window to pay and found out that they are out of potatoes. So why was I not told this when I ordered? Well our order takers are outsourced and we have not called them to advise that we are out of potatoes yet. Do you want fries instead? Well not really but guess I will take that. I get up to get my food at the 2nd window. The guy at the window asked the ever popular "how are you doing tonight?" that they do not want to know the real answer to, but think they need to ask that to be polite. I actually answered with that I was a little pissed off that they are out of baked potatoes and have not informed those taking the orders of this fact. His response was along the lines of I understand but that is life. Guess he can not think quick on his feet. Basically he told me to suck it up. So I did and then pulled away. As I came out of the parking lot I checked the bag to find... 2 sandwiches, a salad.... and only 1 Fry. I quickly pulled back into the parking lot and went into the lobby where a woman was by the door. She asked if something was wrong and I mentioned that a small fry was missing. She checked the receipt that clearly stated 2 meals and an additional salad and got the back to get me another fry. I then informed her that she really should call to tell the order takers you are out of potatoes as well.
Next stop home... to find a tomato on my sandwich.
Yes they are not back up to the way they use to be.
But they will be starting to serve breakfast on Sept 25th.
