Wildlife Fun

I am enjoying my new hobby of feeding the birds and the squirrels. Household has been helping me at times when I run out of things and if the feeders need to be filled. This could so be an expensive hobby but worth it. At this point I am at about $10/week for food. We get seed, thistle, corn, and peanuts. Jeshua has been getting the peanuts since the squirrels love them so. Caritas has gotten some great pictures of the birds. I made an icon out of one of the pictures. You can see the birds fighting for position at the feeder. Next will be pictures of bungee squirrels!

Today we saw a Red-Winged Blackbird. Very cool. I have seen 3 different blue jays getting peanuts and about 4 different cardinals. The squirrels are starting to not run when we come out on the back porch. At one point there were 5 squirrels on the porch. I have been as close as 1-2 feet from a squirrel. It would be so cool if I could get one to eat out of my hand. The most interesting thing was seeing about 50 birds on the deck waiting. I only have one seed feeder that has 6 perches. About 30 birds were waiting on the deck railing, and the others were on the deck just eating some of the seed as it fell from the feeder. It was a MADHOUSE! We get so many different birds. Very nice.

Dollar Tree= Crack Store

Went to dollar tree today and wandered. Got a birthday card for a friend, got some cleaning supplies for the house. I also picked up a couple things for me. They have WASABI coated Cashews in stock again!!!!! Woohoo! YUM!

Now time to watch the storm roll in. It is dark outside like it should be 9pm. Thunder and lightning is frequent.
